Sensera cameras rely on solar power. When your camera's battery indicator is red, it means your camera's solar panel hasn't collected enough power lately to keep the battery charged, and the camera has suspended operation until it can charge up a little. In this state your camera won't take pictures or respond to any commands.

How can I avoid this?
Positioning your solar panel correctly is crucial to allowing your camera to stay up and running at all times. A properly positioned solar panel can collect several times the power of a poorly positioned one. The panel should face due south (if you're in the Northern hemisphere). The best angle from vertical depends on the time of year and your latitude (how far north you are), but here's a great rule of thumb: Point your panel so that at noon it's aimed just below the sun.

The other really important thing to know is that your panel won't collect much power if it's in the shade. It has to be in direct sunlight. Every little shadow that falls on the panel cuts down its efficiency.
